Albert A. Stoll Firehouse

One of the oldest intact firehouses in America, the now-disused Albert A. Stoll firehouse can still be found on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville. For now, anyway. Wherever there's a historically important building, there's someone wanting to tear it down.

Love the architectural details on this! They don't make 'em like this anymore

I think it's Albert A. Stoll. I could be wrong though.

Right you are, Korin.... my laptop was drinking again ;)

(Actually, I called the place "Alberta Stoll" for so many years before I found out otherwise, it's still hard to quit. Apparently it's a common misconception.)

Mr. Stoll was a prominent Louisville attorney. Somewhere, I believe, I have a photo of Albert's grave I took in Cave Hill last Spring that I should post when I find it.
