On the Eastern By-Pass in Richmond, the A&W root beer stand has a series of murals painted on the side that have a seriously queasy, thick, rubbery, pulpy quality to them, and none more so than the strawberry shake. No matter how many times we look at it, it looks more to us like some sort of illustration from a 1960's medical text on ovarian surgery.
